Working Hard & Hardly Working: An Operetta

Description: Three employees (Screwdriver Person, Hammer Man, and Paintbrush Lady) have 10 minutes to assemble a piece of furniture or else they’ll get financially penalized by the floor warden, heard through the Public Address System. But they’ve run into problems with how to build the furniture effectively. Then their former boss (The Manager) visits and reminds them how sharing their weaknesses and strengths can help them work more easily together. After the employees open up about their feelings, The Manager reveals they ordered the piece of furniture in the first place and planned on taking the financial penalty themselves as a team building exercise. Before exiting The Manager encourages them to put down their namesake tools, helping the employees see each other as people and not just co-workers.
